Established in 2012, The Metro Historical Commission Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit friends group which assists the MHC in its efforts to identify, protect, study, and interpret the rich history of Nashville. To date, we have assisted with funding in over 20 Metro Historical Commission projects throughout Davidson County.
Organized and run by preservation minded residents of Nashville, the Metro Historical Commission Foundation works to preserve the unique spirit and landmarks of Music City.
MHC works to document history, save and reuse buildings, and make the public more aware of the necessity and advantages of preservation in Nashville and Davidson County. Created in 1966, the commission consists of fifteen citizens appointed by the mayor.
